Cruise

All downhill from here, I have almost hit my cruising altitude for the next 2 months. The end has finally arrived, tomorrow at 4pm I will have completed my final exam. As of Tuesday, will be heading to Strand to see what it is like to live like the LSD.

Hopefully I will be able to have my first real taste of holiday! Keen to do some booging, surfing, diving, skating, shooting of fish, take some photos and by the end of it string together a little bit of an edit. Really looking forward to holidays an the epic times that lie ahead!  

 Here is to the good times!

There was a little bit of a lightning storm over Cape Town last night. Acted way to late and did not get the money shot. A bit bleak that I never got a good one, alas here is one of the fading storm shot from my bedroom window.

Summer Breeze

When sitting on my balcony earlier this evening overlooking the Mother City, I had a wow moment. I really finally comprehended how lucky I am to be able to live in Cape Town. Just this whiff of summer in the evening breeze makes me drool at the though of holiday and a Cape Town summer! Here is to summer and amazing times.

The Toilet

This week has been a crapper. So much work, less than a month to exams and yet anther 4 assignments due. but I have though to myself, its pretty much less than a month to two months of freedom. As soon as uni is out for the summer I will not be hesitation to surf, make missions, travel all in search of good times.

I will be spending the majority of my holiday in the the Town of  Pearly Beach. This is hands down my favorite place in the world. I am fortunate enough to have a house in this little slice of Heaven. To most people who go are disappointed by the waves (or lack there of) in the area; but the obviously don't know where to look. here is a snap of a wave that pumps over December and I am lucky enough to surf it uncrowded with my best mates.

So its the final grind and then that two months of bliss. I will try update more often, yeeeeewww.

Spring Days

I am finally on holiday. It is only for a week but I would like to try to get as much done as possible. I hope the next week will be filled with little missions and good times.

Here are two snap shots of a mountain that I am really fond of. Up there is is a completely different world. One of dams, fruit trees, fishing and lazy spring days. I cant wait for the next bit of warm weather to head there. A very cool experience to hike up too.

Airoff 2012

Saturday was an epic beach day. We attended the 3rd annual Wolfalley Airoff event. It was an epic day with some impressive moves for the conditions. We also entered the little Art comp and skated around. All in all an epic day!

Woke up early this morning to see yet anther peach of a day forming over the city. I decided to go outside onto my balcony and shoot the beautiful early morning, smoggy pink CBD skyline. I do enjoy the Spring time!

 

Ranting

After reading a post by Kyle Cabano on VivaLaBoogie it got me thinking.

So here is another pointless rant that will make no difference in anyone's lives; it does however make me feel just that little bit better. I hope it inspires at least one of you out there to froth on the dream of one day doing what you love. 

Doing what you love in life is one the most important goals that one should strive to achieve. There are to many people out there stuck in a dead end nine to five, working for the weekends. Unfortunately this is how the world works. I saw this quote, I believe it is suited to the thought process of too many people out there!

The Blue

The clear blue sea beckons me! I am stuck in this stage of sadness, with the reality that the majority of my friends go on holiday from Friday. I have to be at uni until end September before I have my break. This is extremely sad! This photo makes me happy, early morning West Coast, the TT loaded and the boys frothing for waves. Morbo Photo! I cant wait for this time to come again!

First Surf

I recently purchased a 5'11" G-Force Fish. Its a really fun toy to have. I still have a lot to learn but I have gone for a fun surf at very small Glen Beach. Looking forward to Spring coming!

Spikey

This past week has been a tough one. It saw the saying goodbye to my dog, Spike, for the final time. It was extremely sad. R.I.P Spikey.

The Warrior Challenge 2012

The Warrior Challenge is an event created to honor, celebrate and remember late friend, David Lilienfeld. I will be heading over the mountain to Glen Beach for some sunset and a swim! I am anticipating the arrival of spring. This photo is however not of Glen Beach but another bay which I am very fond of. Its a shot of the Kogel Berg Nature Reserve with a hind of lovely light and some expired film.

 

December Day Dream

Looking forward to December, this year can just end. Summer, surfing, skating, nothing but shorts and singlets, diving, gopro, missions, parties, beach, no responsibility, good friends, good times. Damn you class, just be done already! Cant wait for that month and a half of bliss! Frothing! But until then it is all just a blissful day dream, back to reality for now!

The Most Astounding Fact

Every few months, and I'm not quite sure why, I feel the need to watch this short film. But once I watch it I know exactly why I feel the need to watch it! This is honestly one of the best things I have ever seen! So do yourself a favor and turn off the lights, pump the sound and be prepared to be amazed.

Wow I really cannot believe that we are 10 days into August already. I have not been posting many photos and that I apologize for. I have a film filled with hopefully epic photos waiting to be processed! So keep a lookout over the next few weeks for some new snaps. I have been trying to make more missions but unfortunately my GoPro is in for service so they have gone undocumented. This long weekend is a good time for me to catch up on some work and I might be heading into the mountains to an epic zone to shoot some photos, weather depending. Glen Beach Swim

Yesterday was just another one of those epicly warm sunny Cape Town winters days. I took a drive over the mountain down to Glen Beach with good friends, Misha and Lynette. The weather was amazing, water was comfortable and beautifully turquoise in colour. Ended up going for a swim with the GoPro. Afterward I felt so fresh and revived. Wow I love the sea! Here is a little frame of the view I had.

Its been a while. But for the latest Nibble & Scribble post it is the classic Steak and Chips with some crispy fried onion rings and a Bearnaise Sauce . Trust me it was delicious.
