Nightlight

Finally on holiday, well sort of. Even though I finish class today for the following week I will be working to prepare for the Toffee Pop Culture Festival, go check it out and get your tickets it is going to be awesome. I have been living in Cape Town for 3 months now and have been loving every minute of it. Went up Signal Hill the other night for a skate and snapped a few shots of the City lights, still have a few rolls of film to develop, so many photos to come in the near future. This is one I really like, very simple but cool.

Longing Nostalgia

As yet another week has past and yet another week of grinding lies ahead makes me long to return to this little piece of heaven. The expression “WESKUS is die BESKUS” is so true and I would love to take a trip up soon. I am writing this with a slightly nostalgic feeling as I am listening to the same playlist that we always listen to when going up the west coast. It’s strange how even when just traveling a few hours up coast can change ones perspective of life and how we are living ours. It makes me appreciate South Africa so much more when I see these tiny places that are so breathtakingly beautiful, it puts me at awe that most of us take this place for granted. This photo it’s to keep the froth going, snapped a year ago to date. Have a good week all.

NIBBLE & SCRIBBLE - Vol. 1

Nibble & Scribble is a concept that my girlfriend Suzanne saw in post called Skin and Salt by Thomas Pepler. We saw what they did and really enjoyed it so together we decided to give it our own twist as one of our cooking is one favourite activities to do together. This will be the first of a series of Nibble & Scribble posts. It will stage some of the meals that we cook and capture.

We start Nibble & Scribble off with a pasta dish: Fresh gnocchi, with a burnt butter, crispy bacon and sage sauce.

Post Number One

Good day all, after a year out of the blogging game I am back in the form of Finding Former Glory. I stopped blogging last year as when I actually started to read what I was writing, it was rather boring to say the least. It was repetition, post after post. So I decided that I would not write for a while and then I became lazy. After 14 months I have finally decided to create a new blog and start from scratch. The focus has also changed where my other blog featured 90% surfing and bodyboarding and 10% of other stuff; this blog is aimed at being updated with everything and anything that is happening in my life. I know this might not seem interesting to many of you but I will hopefully showcase some cool photos and stories of how they came to be.

As far as my life at the moment I am living in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town, studying at AAASchool of Advertising and working part time for The President Design. I am loving life to say the least. But enough about me, please feel free to mail, facebook, twitter and contact me with any questions, criticisms or comments. My aim is to update this on a weekly basis.

I will leave you with this photo of a good mate of mine Harry O’Connor; we took a little hike up a mountain in Franschhoek and discovered an epic zone, new dam, orchard and little pine forest.
