Surf & Turf, Moketsi Styles

This passed weekend, good mates Kyle, Malcolm and myself embarked in search of waves, illegal crayfish and good times. We encountered more turf than surf but never the less the trip was epic. We did not score the waves we were hoping but the rest of the unexpected adventures really made up for it! I really cannot wait for the next trip. Here are some photos of the good times! To the Sea

Tomorrow morning at 9 am sharp myself and two mates will be heading west, into the wild we go. We are heading in search of some waves, illegal crayfish and good times. Here's to a successful trip.

Warrior

Today saw the Memorial Paddle Out for David Lilienfeld. It was a very sad, emotional, heart wrenching experience, but was very necessary as it has started the road to closure for many! My thoughts go out to Gustav and their dad! Dave you will be sorely missed but will live on through the memories that you have shared with all of us! Rest In Peace.

Surf Trips

What do they really mean? For a second one can disappear, being away and out of touch from the reality. To me it is not even about the waves, it is not about the swells and it is not about the surfing. Sure they play a big role in the trips but personally it is about the moments of the trip. It is the time one spends away, the phase that one spends with friends, the memories that are made and the epic adventure that is had. It is about those times that you can look back on; and be able to be happy, content and blissful. It is an escape from the day-to-day hustle that one is involved in. some of my fondest holiday memories have been spending time up the West Coast, not always scoring waves but always scoring the best times. I wish I could pack up my bags and head. I miss that place and I long to return! This photo is of the beast we took on a trip in 2010, not the best waves, not the best weather but some of the best memories.

CHEATS PIZZA

The cheats pizza is one of Suz and my favourite quick meals to make. This is our preferred one to to make: A good quality ready margherita pizza base (we have found that Woollies dose the best one) topped with caramelised onions, streaky bacon, fresh avo and cheese.

The best bit about this is one can use any toppings of your preferred choice; slap them on and stick it in a preheated oven (200°C) for 15min and its ready to serve.

Shark Men

Hey, if you could all spread some hate on this page it would be much appreciated!

The "shark men" are so called 'researchers' studying sharks, what they have not been telling us is that they have come from overseas and are fucking around in the South African waters of False Bay. They are chumming an AVERAGE OF 50 TONS of chum a day, attracting sharks closer and closer to shore!

What we are trying to do is raise awareness about the douchers and make them realize they are causing more harm than good. Please share this, go to their page and hit them with some hare mail and them fell unwelcome here. Also like the posts the others have posted.

I urge you to please do this, even if you dont go into the sea. We want to get them out of the waters of False Bay and SA!

Tomorrow I will be heading back to Cape Town; another term of class, work and life in Cape Town. I do love the City.

Road

Had a cracker of an Easter weekend. Scored good waves and some great times with friends, no photo's unfortunately due to the weather.

Ocean: West Away

We live in a world where the majority of us are forced into working a 9 – 5, where only a few have the luxury to be able to do what they want when they want. I know that the answer to many is an escape, a happy place, a sanctuary where one can co and be free from the stresses of life and for a few moments be able have no responsibilities, no stress or anxiety and no worries. These places people go to escape could be anywhere; my escape has its place in the ocean. For those that have discovered the escape that the ocean can bring is unbelievable! No matter who you are, in the ocean one is free. When making a trip to the ocean it is a humbling experience. I would urge you all to go and watch this short film about the search and discovery of waves. You will not be disappointed by it, it really is a most amazing edit and anyone can relate I promise you.

Easy Easter

For Easter I am off to my holiday house in the small town of Pearly Beach, going to take it easy, maybe ride some waves and relax. I am quite sad that i am missing this years BBA West Coast Classic but there is always next year. Have a great Easter everybody.

Kalkbakery

The Olympia Café bakery and deli has been making some of the best rustic breads and pastries for ages. If one is in Kalk Bay it is definitely worth stopping by.
